Metabolic Bone dicease

Metabolic bone disease encompasses three conditions characterized by disordered bone turnover, with an imbalance between bone formation and resorption, resulting in an increased risk of fracture.

The Center is unique in that it brings together the latest in research, technology and patient care in the area of metabolic bone diseases––disorders of bone strength, commonly caused by abnormalities of minerals (such as calcium or phosphorus), vitamin D, bone mass or bone structure. Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic bone disorder.
